I started dating online in the summer of 2000. I had just moved to Vancouver and only knew a few people. I figured I could meet a lot of potential dates fast using an online dating service.

I had checked out a local outdoors type club but they were adamant that the purpose of the club was not for members to date - though that did sometimes happen. Since the club didn't seem like a good fit, I don't hang out in bars much and am a bit shy in crowds - internet dating seemed like a dream come true. Where else could you 'get to know' a person a bit through their profile BEFORE meeting them.

Well.... blind dates your friends set up but I'd rather not go there....

I started this blog as I wanted to share my reviews of dating sites, my experiences with online dating, and to create a venue via which to communicate with other online daters.

Yes - I am an affiliate of the dating sites I review and link here. I click through on affiliate links if someone has taken the time to review a product and I feel I may like it.

There's no harm in checking out a site or two as many allow you to join for free. If you really like a site then you can choose to pay for a membership.
